15 SRL storytellers and volunteers told stories at community and children’s libraries to collect donated exercise books for children affected by the disaster - an effort coordinated by Asian Storytelling Network (ASN).
  > Chapter 3 – SRL Celebrates 200 Years of Hans Christian Andersen with a selection of Andersen’s tales read and told by SRL members.
  > SRL participates in Carnival Speak! - an event under the Speak Good English Movement (SGEM) 13-15 May , Toa Payoh HDB HUB.

  > Organised Family Reading Carnival 2003 “READUPADIBACA” (i.e. ‘read’ in the four languages – ‘du’ CL, ‘padi’ TL and ‘baca’ ML) – in promoting International Literacy Day for families.
  > Organised Book-a-Race :23 sec school teams ‘race’ through 4 libraries to locate information and complete set physical tasks – in celebration of International Literacy Day 2003 among teens in school.
